LT Christin Elizabeth Cotten is the Staff Judge Advocate and Legal Assistance Attorney for RLSO NDW BROFF Annapolis. LT Cotten was born in Clayton, NC. She attended the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, where she earned a bachelor of arts in Public Policy Analysis. While at the University of North Carolina, LT Cotten was a member of the Women’s Rowing team. LT Cotten graduated Magna Cum Laude from North Carolina Central University School of Law with a juris doctor. While earning her juris doctor, LT Cotten simultaneously earned her masters of business administration. While in her second year of law school, LT Cotten applied for and was accepted into the U.S. Navy JAG Corps student program, and received her commission in 2010. She then attended Officer Development School and Naval Justice School in Newport, Rhode Island.

After Naval Justice School LT Cotten reported onboard RLSO EURAFSWA in Naples, Italy in April 2012. LT Cotten is a plank owner in EURAFSWA’s First Tour Judge Advocate training pipeline. In addition, LT Cotten was the NSA Naples, Italy VITA Coordinator, as well as the EURAFSWA Region VITA Coordinator for the 2012 tax season. Following her tour at RLSO EURAFSWA, LT Cotten transferred to Defense Service Office North Detachment Naples where she served as a Defense Services Attorney.

LT Cotten has been awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Overseas Service Ribbon, Pistol Sharp Shooter Qualification, and the Rifle Qualification Ribbon.
