Brandi Pikes is a third year law student at Washington University St. Louis School of Law. She earned a Bachelor’s of Art in Mass Communications from Alcorn State University in 2010 and a Master of Arts in Political Science from the University of Mississippi in 2012. Prior to attending law school, Brandi worked as a community organizer for President Barack Obama’s 2012 Campaign in Ohio and as an eighth grade language arts teacher and a Teach for America corp member in Florida.

She is the Student Liaison for the Women Lawyers Association of St. Louis and the past National Secretary of the National Bar Association’s Law Students Division, Director of Communications for the Mid-West Region of the Black Law Students Association (“BLSA”) and Social Action Chair for WashULaw Chapter of BLSA. Brandi currently serves on the Teach for America St. Louis Corp-Alumni Board.

In addition to her student governance experience, Brandi has worked as an intern with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, a summer associate with Bricker & Eckler, an employment law clerk at the St. Louis Zoo, a summer associate position with Sandberg, Phoenix, and von Gontard, a law clerk at the MacArthur Justice Center in St. Louis, and a Leadership for Educational Equity Fellow with the U.S. Department of Education.

She enjoys volunteering at local K-12 schools in her hometown, St. Louis and teaching students about their individual rights. Brandi is member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
